    The Biggest Changes for 2009

    • There have been updates to the three health plan options. You continue to have three health plan options but will notice some changes in deductibles, coinsurance and copayments. See the Plan Year 2009 enrollment booklet for more details.
    • New vendor for health plans. UMR, A UnitedHealthcare Company, is now a vendor for all three health plans. You will continue to have Blue Cross Blue Shield, Coventry and Preferred Health options as well.
    • Healthy lifestyle programs are here! The State of Kansas wants to partner with you to improve your health and well-being and to better manage health care costs. Through HealthQuest—your State of Kansas Health and Wellness Program—you have access to resources and tools that can help you and your family live a healthy life, programs to help you quit tobacco use, manage your weight and stress, and access to online wellness newsletters.
    • Employer contributions—you can receive a discount on your premiums! The State of Kansas will continue to pay the majority of your health and dental premiums. In addition, members who are either non-tobacco users OR current tobacco users that enroll in and complete Health Dialog’s Smoking Cessation Program (offered through HealthQuest) will receive a discount on their health premiums. State employees will receive a $20 discount each pay period.
    • Rewards for completing the HealthQuest health screening and personal health assessment (PHA). It pays to be health conscious. If you complete the HealthQuest health screening and PHA, you will be eligible for a $50 gift card!

Please review your enrollment materials to learn more.

You can use the FSA Worksheet to estimate your health care and dependent care expenses.
